What Causes Sharp Pains Along With Tingling Sensation Throughout The Head?

default
Posted on Fri, 27 Mar 2015
Question: What kind of headache do I have? Its been a entire week i have been experiencing sharp pains throughout my head. The back of it was sore but it is not gone. The sharp pains are even going to my temples now and sometimes my forehead gets a little tingling feeling. I've noticed that it occurs more often when I lay down on the side or on my back. I have a appointment to see a neurologist but I'm just curious for now. Could this be a nerve in the neck causing problems? It all started when I would sit in my bed with my head on my head tilted to the side. Could this also be eye related since I do use the computer many hours of the day.

Brief Answer:
could be migraine, sinus disorder or others

Detailed Answer:
Hello
i had gone through your question and I can understand your concern

Looking at your history such headache could be due to any of following conditions

migraine
sinus disorder
eye problem like refractory error
headache due to fatigue
Brain tumor

I would like further information to help you better
1. Since how long it has been started
2. Are you having any problem with eye like blurring of vision watering of eye
3 any history of medications
4. Do you feel dizziness vomiting
5. does it remain a constant pain throughout the day or it changes with time as day passes

In my opinion you should visit a neurologist for examination and a battery of tests like hemoglobin, CBC, X ray paranasal sinuses, ophthalmoscopy, hormonal studies, MRI and MRV brain (if needed).

you can take tab acetaminophen/ ibuprofen for immediate relief

I hope you will find my response informative and helpful
please do not hesitate to write back to us for further clarification I will gladly answer you
wishing you very good health

No other symptoms besides the head pains. It's not constant , it just happens maybe every other hour sometimes. I notice I feel it more when I tilt my head forward sometimes.

Brief Answer:
This could be a sinus disorder; get an X ray PNS

Detailed Answer:
Hello
thanks for your reply

headache on bending forward is suggestive of sinus disorder or sinusitis

Do you have preceding history of upper respiratory tract infection?

get an X ray Paranasal sinuses (PNS) immediately to rule out/confirm the diagnosis

you can think of the rest of the tests if X ray PNS comes to be ok.

Hope this addresses your question
you can ask for more assistance

best wishes
