Question: Hi,

My wife fell while sking today and hurt her shoulder even thou it hurt she still carried on skiing,

But she's in a lot of pain now and its gone down her arm, it don't seem to be swollen but she's feeling a lot

of discomfort, we fly home tomorrow what's the best thing to do

I am so sorry to hear about this pain. Because she could carry on with the exercise, a dislocation or fracture is unlikely and this should be more of a soft tissue pain. I will recommend she puts the hand to rest, apply cold packs and take Tylenol and Ibuprofen to relief the pains. If the pain persists after doing these, then she should get an Xray when home for further evaluations. However, these measures will significantly reduce her pains.
