Brief Answer:
Neurological examination/HbA1C

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar,a neurologist, here to answer your query.

The symptoms which you are having can be a feature of Thyroid hormones disturbance as well, however, if you have not got your TSH checked within past 3 months, you should get it now.
Further, a glycosylated hemoglobin(HbA1C) test can help to accurately tell your blood sugar status over past 3 months.

The symptoms are non-specific and not apparently serious, though a neurological examination is suggested to detect an abnormality, if any. A Nerve conduction studies may be required as well, depending on neurologic exam.

Lastly, Anxiety can frequently cause such symptoms and mental relaxation exercises with mild anti-anxiety medicines will likely help.

and finally again, its apparently not serious.

Hope that helps. If you have any further questions,I shall be glad to have you in follow-up.

Thanks doctor,
I checked HB1AC 1 month back it was 5.3 and TSH 3.4.

I have a pinched nerve near shoulder blades. But, I get scared as it starts when I lie down. Iam taking anti anxiety medicines (panic attacks) But why dies this happen while I lie down?

If I have to go for nerve conduction study what is the name of the test?

Brief Answer:
C5-C6 disc osteophyte complex.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being in follow-up.

As we discussed before, your C5-C6 disc osteophyte complex is the probable reason for pinched nerve near shoulder blades. It may have postural influence, and it may worsen in lying down position. Try not using a pillow and that may help. Do regular neck extension exercises which will help gradually.

You can go for a 'Nerve conduction studies' of upper limbs.

Hope that helps.I shall be glad to have you in follow-up with further details.

Thanks doctor,
But this happens not only in hands but in legs as well. As soon as I lie down I get pressure on nerves in hands and legs both. Sometimes it appears as if something is controlling it from middle of my head and nerve is pressurizing forehead, nose, near the temples and upper and lower limbs.

Is it due to C5, C6 disc issue?

Answered by Dr. Ajay Panwar (5 hours later)
Brief Answer:
Transient nerve compression.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being in follow-up.

Lying down in one position may cause numbness in hands or legs for sometimes. This is due to transient nerve compression and occurs in many normal persons.
C5-C6 nerve radicular symptoms usually don't occur in legs. Some of your symptoms appear to be related to anxiety like nerve pressurizing forehead, nose, and extremities at the same time.

Mental relaxation exercises will help for sure.

Hope that helps. If you have any further questions,I shall be glad to have you in follow-up else please close the thread, rate it and write a review.

Hi Doctor,
I went to neurologist and he said prescribed me Duzela 30 twice daily with etilaam pro 0.5/20. But, while I take duzela twice it increases my anxiety levels and chest pain and other symptoms so Doctor has reduced it to once daily. He said that before proceeding for any tests we should wait for a month.

Now, for nerve pains do you think that Duzela will help or should I take some other medicine as well like pregablin etc.?

Thanks
doctor
Answered by Dr. Ajay Panwar (10 hours later)
Brief Answer:
Duzela is fine. Pregabalin can be added upon.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being in follow-up.

Duzela is a good antineuralgic medicine.However,30 mg OD is slightly less dose and so, pregabalin may be added upon. In such a situation,I usually add Pregabalin. However,it depends on the treating doctor and you can discuss with him regarding the same.

Hope that helps. If you have any further questions, you are most welcome.

Thanks doctor,

I have few questions which I would like to know before I meet my doctor next week.

1- Iam on etilaam pro 0.5/20- Can pregablin be added with this?

2- While on etilaam pro my BP becomes very low all the time like 90/70 when I wake up and in such a situation How can I take it twice daily? Can taking etilaam and propanolol separately help? What should I do in such situation?

I have neuro pain as well as panic attack :(

Brief Answer:
Pregabalin can be added.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being in follow-up.

Please find answers to your questions as:
1)Yes, Pregabalin can be added.
2)Etilaam pro dose should not be increased if you have low BP because that may further lower your BP. Its better not to take it twice, instead discuss with your doctor if he can stop it.

Hope that helps. If you have any further questions,I shall be glad to answer them.
