Question: Hi,

Last year july It all started. I had very spicy food and I had vomiting sensation. I will tend to vomit but nothing will come out. I consulted various doctors and they said its due to acidity and GERD. This may i I took endoscopy.
Endoscopy result says Pylorus inflammed and lax sphincter inflammed

Tablet given to me is kyrab-d(dexraberprazole), spasmoporiv, perinorm and sucrafil gel

I am still having the feeling of fullness always and if I inhale there will be bowel movements and something goes up and down.

Is it a serious problem ?

Please guide me

Brief Answer:
The report say about definite GERD

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for the query and I viewed the Endoscopy results.

They give a clear picture of loose lower oesophageal gastric sphincter. This is band that tightly holds and stops the food contents flowing back from stomach to food pipe (reverse ). If this is lax as seen on the endoscopy obviously you would have all the symptoms described. Since the food contents have acid coating it injures the food pipe distally and parts of stomach like pylorus cause inflammation as well.

So you should avoid all the foods and activities that weaken or loosen the sphincter. May be use some medicines that reduce the acid secretion.

Thus you were prescribed the right medicines to reduce the acid secretion, stop nausea. Now you should know what foods lax sphincter or activities that reverses food back to food pipe.

Coffee, Alchohol, smoke, peppermint, spicy food, Processed food, root vegetables all loosen it further.
Activities like lying on bed immediately after food (take at least 2 hour gap), irregular meal timing, no exercise.

This can grow into a serious problem hampering your routine life.

With this information you should know what all needs to be done apart from regular medication.

All the best.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply doctor.

I am not eating fried, fatty, spicy food. Even in my empty stomach in the morning I have that regurgitation feeling. one sound I am hearing when i inhale and I take a deep breath. I have tried all the possible things from my side. I don't have any heartburn or chest pain. I only have this nauseating feeling and I cant eat much.
How to heal the inflammations?

I am taking the fore-mentioned medicines for 1 month and I don't have any effect
is there any permanent cure ?

will it lead to serious complications like esophageal cancer ?

I am very worried

Brief Answer:
Continue medications for one more month

Detailed Answer:
Hi

It is too early to heal the inflammation. It needs two months and you should be lucky to cure in one month. COntinue what all you said. You can take Perinorm if you have nausea. You can opt for home remedies like Ginger ale, curd to ease off the nausea instead of medication. Eat very slow during food time, concentrate on what you eat. Do not talk or watch TV while you eat. Spend time to eat by chewing food at least 20 minutes per meal.

Let us not talk about cancers at this time which will increase the anxiety and more problems.

Brief Answer:
Temporary medication permanent behavioural modification

Detailed Answer:
it is all about lifestyle modification that prevent further complications. For now you just need temporary medication. Yes there are surgeries available for lax sphincter. Act up on your lifestyle, change the way you eat and cook.

All the best.
