default
Posted on Tue, 11 Aug 2015
Question: I am 74 yo female, have always suffered with back problems. My doctor keeps saying that I have arthritis. But, lately the pain has intensified, and my lower abdomen, left side mostly is also hurting. I have daily bouts of diarrhea, but yesterday I also vomited quite a bit. I keep telling my primary care provider of these symptoms and she just keeps changing my meds. I am diabetic (type 2), I have HBP, Acid Reflux and high cholesterol. I take meds for these problems. Please help. The lower ab pain is sometimes unbearable.
Thank you,

Brief Answer:
you need gastroenterologic work up

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.
Considering these symptoms, you should inist to do more detailed gastroenterologic work up including CT scan and colonoscopy. Bowel inflammation such as diverticulitis or pelvic organs disorders may manifest with your symptomatology so some serious conditions should be ruled out. YOu need to do stool parasitic test, urine analysis and pelvic ct scan or at least ultrasound. Try to eat easier food, more fluids, smaller meals and antidiarrhetic medications. Wish you good health. Regards
