Posted on Mon, 1 Dec 2014
Question: Dear Doctor,

From the past one week i am noticing a severe headache in the morning after I wake up. It starts slowly and continues to up to 3-4 hours. It’s been occurring since past 4-5 days on a daily basis. I was on an official trip to Singapore and came back on last Sunday and having problem since then. It has never occurred to me before and have no heridatry reasons for this to happen. It could be beceasue of my sleep disorder in Singapore but now I am having enough sleep these days or due to high pressure in work. I am not sure though. Kindly help.

Thanks

Need details

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX

According to your history it seems like Tension headache. It will take time to resolve.
However I would like to ask you few more details.
What is the exact site of pain in head? Is it radiating to neck or shoulder? Do you feel any giddiness, spinning of head or tinnitus?
Have you noticed any other thing triggers your pain other than work like any food item?
Do you have gastric problem?
Do you feel any pressure in ear or ear pain?
What all medications have you tried?
Do you have cold?

After going through your given details it seems like simple or tension headache (Occupational related) may be due to your work stress and trip as you said.

It will take time, it is good that your getting enough sleep now.

If you get severe pain I suggest you take Nimusulide for 3 days after food.

Do some yoga and meditation if you feel stress or anxiety.
If you have any queries I will be happy to help you.
