Question: I had a sudden extremely bad headache 5 nights ago, when I woke up next morning I keep calling family and friends the wrong name mixing names up. Do you think my headache caused this

I have gone through your question in detail and I can understand what you are going through.

At the age of 59 years, a severe headache followed by a confusional state the next day morning arises suspicion of an organic cause for the same. Nothing to panic but it would be wise to get investigated ones for a possibility of a minor stroke. A stroke can present with headache followed by such confusional periods where naming becomes difficult.

Do see your physician and get a Ct scan or MRI brain done.
