What Causes Severe Hair Fall With Early Morning Tiredness?

Question: Hello Doctor, my stress levels have gone to new highs. every morning when I wake up I feel extremely tired, Lots of hair-fall too. I eat a lot but I really don't think that serves up to reduce any of this. Can you help me understand what precautions/measures should I start taking?

Hi,

Hair fall and the early morning tiredness may or may not be related to each other. But there are few cause/conditions where both the symptoms can be found.
1. First, I would check if you are sleeping adequately - inadequate or improper sleep will result in fatigue and tiredness. One may also start to loose hair. If you are not aware whether or not you are sleeping well, please ask your partner. Getting up too frequently from sleep indicates inadequate sleep.
2. You will have to check blood hemoglobin, thyroid hormones as well as blood sugar. Abnormalities here will result in fatigue as well as hair fall.
3. Underlying depression and other psychological problems can also cause hair fall + tiredness.
4. Nutritional deficiency.

Therefore in the current circumstance, i suggest you to first check your sleep habit and get the above listed tests. if both these factors come normal, you should visit a physician who can check for underlying depression, nutritional deficiency and other causes.
