What Causes Severe Fever With Foul Smelling Diarrhea?
Question: Hello Doctor,
I have two daughters (twins) and they are 2.2 yrs old. A couple of days ago one of them developed severe fever and her stools were very smelly and watery. Doctor recommended that we put her on antibiotics and asked us to give Taximo Forte. This was supposed to be for 5 days but the dosage got over in 2.5 days. I am worried that we did not mix it well and did we overdose her?
Should I buy another bottle for the remaining period? I actually have another bottle of Taximo O but I am not sure if I can give this instead?

The dose of antibiotic depends on the weight of child. It is not necessary that the antibiotic bottle should continue for 5 days. It depends, if the weight is more then you have to buy another bottle of antibiotic so that proper dosage can be given.

Thanks doctor. I have a bottle of Taxim O at home, can I give that? Initially the doctor had prescribed Taxim Forte which was given for the first 2.5 days. Is it ok to change the brand?
