What Causes Severe Dizziness While On Clarithromycin?

default
Posted on Wed, 12 Oct 2016
Question: I've been taking Clarithromycin for about four days and have been feeling some dizziness on and off for the past three days. But tonight I'm so dizzy that I can't walk straight. I can't lift my arm without it making the room spin. It doesn't feel right. Is it an allergic reaction? Just a strong adverse effect? What should I do to fix it? I have to work tomorrow and can't be this dizzy.

Brief Answer:
Likely due to disease side effect, supportive care only

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and i understand your concern. I believe there is some involvement of sinuses, ear nose or throat for which you are using clarithromycin and benadryl. If so then let me reassure you that there is nothing wrong here, spinning and dizziness is common sequelae of such diseases, all you need is rest for while, take some antivert for relief and continue taking clarithromycin and benadryl. Reduce benadryl dosage , it may help with the dizziness as well by reducing sedation.
If the dizziness persists more than a week then get tested. I hope it helps. take good care of yourself and dont forget toclose the discussion please.
