Please answer some questions and provide a photo if possible.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for using Healthcaremagic to post your health query.
I read carefully your question and I understand your concern.

Can you please upload a photo of the nipple so I can examine the skin around the area that is sensitive? To upload an image, simply click on the link to upload a file and follow the instructions. If this proves difficult, please send the image by mail to YYYY@YYYY and request that the image should be uploaded to your query.

Also, please answer the following questions:
- When did you notice it from the first time?
- Is it getting worse?
- Is the shape of the nipple the same comparing with the other side?
- Have you had any discharge from it?
- When you touch it, is it swollen, or hard under the surface of the skin?
- Have you used any medication so far?
- What makes it worse and what makes it better? (if you have noticed anything)

All this information will help me understand more so I can advice accurately.

Looking forward to your follow up question.

Brief Answer:
Seems like nothing to worry about but keep an eye on it.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for the information and the photo.

I think that for now it is nothing to worry about. Maybe mild inflammation in any of the tubes which are accumulated in the nipple, which would explain the sensitivity.

But I don't think it is an infection because it would have become much worse in 3 months time.
Also I don't think it is a cancer or something else, because both nipple would be visibly different. The mammogram confirms it.

Anyway, you should keep an eye on it for changes. Signs to worry about are a itchy and scaly nipple, the sensitivity becoming pain and having redness around it and discharge.
If any of these signs that you should see a doctor as soon as possible so they can run further testing.

I hope this makes sense and the I have reassured you a bit.

Kind regards,
Dr. Papaqako
