What Causes Running Nose And Itchy Throat?
Question: Hi,
I do not have cold or cough but I have running nose every day during early hours (around 3 am) which lasts for about an hour. That one hour I sneeze badly & also cough. I get itching in throat, ears & nose. After an hour everything becomes normal as if I dint have anything. Not sure if this is some kind of allergy. I tried citrizine but it did not help much & feel very sleepy when I take it. I am also on homeopathy but it is not helping me much. I am suffering from this condition from a year.

I have read your query.
According to your description it seems like allergy or Post nasal drip. Post nasal drip can cause itching in throat, nose and ear.
Since you have already tried cetrizine which was not helped you.
I suggest you levocetrizine with Montelukast once a day before bed. This is a prescribed medication. You can get by local doctor prescription.
And Steam inhalation twice a day.
I also suggest you decongestants like Nasoclear nasal saline drops, 2 drops in each nostril 4-6 times a day.
Clean your bed, bed sheets and pillow covers before going bed.
If you will not feel better with this medication after 5 days then I suggest you visit an ENT doctor for clinical examination and rule out the possibilities of post nasal drip or viral infection or allergic rhinitis
