Brief Answer:
could be many things

Detailed Answer:
Hi, i will try to help.
The "right side of the stomach", could be many things, however the way you describe the pain, in regards that it varies with position, it means it is likely related to a muscle or ribcage problem. You may have a sore muscle or spasm, or you may have chostocondritis of one of the joints near the ribcage. For this you can try an over the count anti-inflammatory. However keep in mind that on the right side of the upper abdomen there is also the liver, gallbladder, bile ducts, intestine / stomach. In order to evaluate for this, further testing is required, and also a physical examination by a doctor. If the pain becomes severe or you develop fever don't hesitate to seek medical care immediately.
If the tampons hurt, this is unlikely related to upper abdominal pain / right side pain. You may have mucosal dryness inside the vagina, and giving it a short break (few days) to tampon use should help.
Hope that helped, let me know if you have further questions or concerns

Detailed Answer:
if you feel gassy then i would suggest you trying simethicone tablets (over the counter), brand name is Gas-X. This can help tremendously with the gassy feeling. However if constipation remains a possibility, prune juice is not usually enough to provide fast relief. You should try an over the counter stool softener or laxative (milk of magnesia, magnesium citrate, miralax, senna, colace, etc). The pain you are feeling, could be related from stretching of your bowels, from gas / constipation.

But how wouldnt the prune juice help make it disapear ?
doctor
Answered by Dr. Enrique Molina (11 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
no

Detailed Answer:
prune juice is a good stool softener for mild cases of constipation, however prune contains a lot of sorbitol and fiber which will make you gassy and bloated. So it will help and hopefully make dissapear the constipation part but not the gas.

Brief Answer:
Physical exam

Detailed Answer:
i suggest you make an appointment to be seen by a primary care physician to be examined. you may also need an abdominal ultrasound and laboratory studies.
i wouldn't suggest you to take pain medications, as this would mask a potentially dangerous problem
