Posted on Wed, 19 Apr 2017
Question: Severe back pain. Not in the spinal column. Located about four or five inches to the right in the lower back. Have been to back doctors, physical therapy, and have had the shots. Have a hard time sitting, standing, and walking. Pain is in one specific spot.

Brief Answer:
Can be back muscle spasm.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The pain on the right of the back that you have can be due to a muscle spasm. This can be properly diagnosed after an MRi scan of the area. Rest hot compress and oral muscle relaxants can help. Back strengthening exercises will also help in maintaining the tone of the muscles in the area.
I hope this answers your query.
