Question: I am not sure if i have strep throat. I was very tired on friday after doing many chores. I woke up saturday with a sore throat that is making it difficult to swallow. I have had my tonsils removed long ago and all I can see is red in the back of the throat and it looks somewhat swollen..

Brief Answer:
Throat swab culture to rule out strep throat.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing your query. After reading your post, I would like to advise that you should get yourself clinically examined and investigated to rule out streptococcal throat infection by
1. Throat swab culture.
2. Complete Blood Count ( CBC ).

Meanwhile I suggest you warm salt water gargles thrice a day.
Further medical management can be planned according to the reports of the above mentioned investigations.
I hope this is helpful to you. If you have any further query, I will be happy to help.
Regards. Thanks.
