What Causes Reddish Bumps On Feet?

default
Posted on Sat, 28 Feb 2015
Question: Hi there,
I was writing to inquire about a rash that I have had for the last two months. It started with a half-dollar sized ring type rash on the top of my foot, then appears to have spread to the other foot (just 3 or so little red rash areas) and then my hands, largely red bumps that itch a bit, have dry skin on top and then resolve in about 3 weeks. The rash on my foot is going away. I've been tested by a dermatologist for ring worm and it came back negative. Was trying to figure out what else it could be. Was worried it might be syphallis. I've not had sex for many months, but did have a massage that included a manual release at the end. I've had no red rash or bumps on my penis though. Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks.

Brief Answer:
Rashes are unlikely to be due to Syphilis

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Syphilis is the STD which can produce rashes in the secondary stage. But massage alone would not have caused syphilis. Sexual activities before many months can manifest as secondary stage.
Syphilitic rashes are generalized, bilaterally symmetrical, non-itchy. It will persist for not less than 45 days without specific treatment and not vanish within days. So your rashes are unlikely to be due to Syphilis.
There are many other reasons for rashes like viral fever, allergy to drugs, food, insect bite and diseases like Pityriasis rosea etc.
So your dermatologist will guide you better. Don't get confused with odd things.
