Brief Answer:
Lichen planus; topical steroids

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

Thank you. I have reviewed the image.

This is Lichen planus.
Lichen planus usually presents as itchy, red/ purple, raised, flat topped and scaly lesions.
Skin, Oral mucosa as well as Genital mucosa may be involved with lichen planus.

Do you have itchy, red/ purple, raised lesions elsewhere on body as well? like legs, abdomen, arms?

Lichen planus is a steroid responsive skin condition.
I suggest you to use a moderately potent topical steroid e.g mometasone furoate 0.1% ointment, twice daily for 2-4 weeks.
This is a prescription steroid and therefore you need to talk to your doctor for the needful.

An OTC oral antihistamine e.g cetrizine 10 mg once daily will provide you symptomatic relief from itching.

No just on that area and it does itch from time to time. Is this something serious? Is it and STD? And will it go away with medications or with hydrocortozone.

Brief Answer:
Mid-potent topical steroids

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

It is not an STD and it is not contagious. It is not a serious skin condition.

Hydrocortisone is the mildest of topical steroids. It is too mild for it to work on this.

I would suggest a mid potent topical steroid like mometasone furoate 0.1% ointment, twice daily for 2-3 weeks and then follow up again.
