Not herpes; candidal infection
Detailed Answer:
Hello young fellow,
Welcome to the forum again and thanks for your swift reply.
Do not worry if you don't have the facility to upload higher resolution pictures. DO not send cropped picture as well as I can see all the pictures in enlarged view. The only problem was when I was increasing the size of the picture for best diagnosis then the pickers got blurred.
You know in all the skin problems it is the through and best examination which is most important. I want to give best professional advice to you so that you must get relaxed.
Now as per the present status of all the available material - it is completely unlikely to have herpes. It is not at all the possibility of the same. Let me give medical explanation for the same.
- In herpes there is eruptions which may be red at beginning but in very few hour turns into small vesicles.
- These vesicles are grouped one. It means these vesicles are present in a group at a particular site only. These are not present at one or the other places. Either these may be present on tip or on base of penis but not both the places.
- The vesicles develop in maximum of one day and never present one a particular day and next one on next day, that too in a period of 24 hours.
- Once these are formed then this is a must that these burst up and ooze fluid from it.
-There is formation of very superficial ulcers. These remain for at last a period of 4-5 days and then disappear in complete of 7 days period.
-There is a feeling of moderate to high burning and irritation with itching in same with pain pronounced in the vesicles rupture.
So now gong through all the above points you can get an idea regarding no possibility herpes. In yourself there was only
redness and no formation of vesicles. You may
ask question that it might be possible because of
antiviral drug valacyclovir.
But in clinical sense once the redness is formed then there is formation of vesicles is a must. It can prevent further formation but once the redness prevails then there is
injury to the skin thereby leading to vesicles.
Next thing is in yourself there was formation of redness at two different places which is again not in favor of herpes.
There was no any formation of vesicles or ulcers in any of the lesions.
Now coming on to the pictures directly which I wanted to confirm my diagnosis. In my opinion I will go with the diagnosis of mild candidal infection. This type of presentation is most common with
fungal infection of the area. Your second doctor is correct in her diagnosis.
You can apply the cream prescribed by her. Along with this I further suggest you to clean your penile and prepuce area gently and completely two times a day. Maintain good hygiene. Avoid sex for few days period and even
masturbation too. In future always do
protected intercourse.
Relax yourself and do not worry.
With regards,
"Wish you good health"
