Question: I have red puffy patches on the foreskin of my penis near the tip. there is also a light burning sensation almost all the time at the opening of my penis. any ideas what this may be?

I have gone through your query. Your problem can be most likely yeast infection. In such case i would recommend using ointments with combination of antifungal like miconazole, antibacterial like neomycin and cortcosteroid like beclamethasone for local application.

Also avoid soaps and irritants to wash the area. Instead you can use saline or warm water.
Do you had any recent history of risky unprotected intercourse?
If you send a picture of it then it will be more helpful in identifying.
