default
Posted on Thu, 29 May 2014
Question: My daughter has been vomiting since last November. SHE CAN'T keep anything down. They have done an endoscopy and stool test s blood test s and can't find the reason. Her stomach hurts near and around the center The doctors have had her on purpose and Revlon. Nothing helps. She has lost 50 lbs. She was heavy to start with. so at this point her weight is not at a dangerous number. She's tired of VOMITING. Any idea of what could be wrong?

Brief Answer:
I need further details

Detailed Answer:
Dear Friend.
Welcome to HCM. I am Dr Anshul Varshney. I have read your query in detail. I understand your concern.

Recurrent Vomiting can be due to many reasons like:
1. Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)
2. Hiatus Hernia
3. Psychogenic Vomiting disorders like Bulimia
4. Acid Peptic Disease
5. Jaundice
6. Mal absorption Syndromes

Weight loss is usually associated with recurrent vomiting.

To give you a better diagnosis, I have few questions that you need to answer:

1.Since how long is she suffering from this, I mean from November 2013 , how it started?
2.What are the timings when she starts vomiting? Like after having meals or after she gets up in morning or randomly.
3.Was she ever on dieting for weight loss?
4.Does she has any dry cough?
5.Any fever, frequent reddening of eyes
6.Any history of any medications in past that she has taken for long?
7.Any history of jaundice or Anemia?
8.Any history of pain abdomen? Especially after eating food?
9.Have you ever noticed that the vomiting occur more frequently with a particular type of diet like after consuming wheat. Milk or milk products?
10.When was her Last Menstrual Period?
11.Please attach her endoscopy report and all blood investigations done.

This is my best advice for you based on available details. If you have any further query please ask me and revert with the asked details for a better help.

Stay Healthy.
