What Causes Recurrent Throat Infection, Fatigue And Cough?
Acid reflux
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX
I went through the query and checked the picture.
The yellowish discoloration of the posterior part of the tongue alone denotes that you have acid refluxes from the stomach into the throat when you sleep. So antibiotics is a wrong choice. You should have consulted a doctor immediately. Antibiotics made things more worse now. You have dry cough especially at night and turns into throat irritation just because the sphincter between the food pipe and stomach is not functionign properly because of various reasons. The reasons could be lax sphincter, stress, obesity, sedentary life, food.
I suggest you to take TAB PAN 40 before breakfast every day for 2 weeks and review. Along with it avoid spicy, greasy food. Have regular meal timings and put two pillows under head ( raise the head end of the bed), wear loose clothes, have dinner by 7PM every evening.
These changes should bring back you to normalcy.
But right now, I feel slight pain when swallowing, and as you can see red stains on my throat both sides. When the throat pain started initially (while in cold environment) I had taken a antibiotic ( Cetrizine based ), the swelling had come down and provided immediate relief. ( Dec 29th 2015 ). But travelling and wrong food and less sleep has brought this back. Earlier I never had these problem, but for a month I am very sensitive when it comes to throat. I think I may not have completely cured of bacterial infection. SO though of taking Anti-Bio. I will change lifestyle and follow your instruction. Let me know if additional info could change your advice.
Advise remains same
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
The picture does not show any enlarged tonsils but reddened anterior pillars of the tonsil cavity.
My advise remains same. Cetrizine is not antibiotic it is an antihistamine for cold and allergy. They dehydrate the person if taken in excess.
I suggest you to work on the same things mentioned above.
at least 2 to 3 litres of water a day (preferably warm to tepid)
