What Causes Recurrent Rough Bumps On Upper Lip?

default
Posted on Thu, 26 Nov 2015
Question: For about a year or two I have been noticing these reoccurring flesh colored very tiny bumps on my upper lip toward the center you can't really see them bump when I run my tongue long it it feels scaly. The bumps have a white tip to it. I just want to know what it is and why I have them they go away and reappear every now and then and when they go away 1 or 2 bumps linger around but my lip goes back to its smooth soft texture. The bumps do not hurt or itch or tingle I don't feel them I just know they are there when I lick my lips and it feels rough.

Brief Answer:
Needs a thorough clinical evaluation for confirming diagnosis..

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain the symptoms that you explained seems consistent with entrapped skin cells that do not exfoliate naturally and is known as Milium or Milia..
These comes and goes on its own and are not harmful at all and also do not need any specific treatment and gentle scrubbing of lips can be helpful..

Other common cause can be Fordyce's Spots which are raised Sebaceous Glands and they are also harmless structures..

I would suggest you to get a clinical evaluation done by a Dermatologist when the bumps are present as a clinical examination is mandatory for a proper diagnosis..

Any further questions are most welcome..

Wishing you a good health..

Thanks and regards.
