What Causes Recurrent Itchy Rash?

default
Posted on Mon, 8 Dec 2014
Question: I've been having an on and off again rash for about two months. It is extremely itchy and when there is no signs of the rash it still remains to itch mainly at night. I have asked on this forum what it could have been and two doctors said scabies. I visited my physician who said it was not scabies and should see a dermatolgist. I am still worried that this could be viral and something I could spread. I also experienced a near fainting incident in the shower recently. I began to get extremely nauseous and my eyes went dark. I don't know if this was the cause of me stressing over my rash. I have included the pictures again for a second opinion. Any answers will help as I am making myself go crazy over this.

Brief Answer:
Scabies

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I read history and saw photos you posted. Most probably you may be having scabies. You consult dermatologist personally.

Blood tests may be done to rule out internal diseases. You also consult physician for symptom of nausea...

You may take Antiscabatic drug like ivermectin 12 mg weekly till good result. Antihistaminic like hydroxyzine HCL 25 mg at night and levocetirizine 5 mg in morning till good result.Antibiotics like cephalaxine 500 mg twice a week for short period to prevent secondary bacterial infection. Topically, apply permethrin cream from neck to toe at night. Avoid soap at bath. You may use dettol liq for bathing.

If any family members affected, let him treated. Clothes,garments..etc may be washed in warm water. This might prevent relapses.

This would be helpful in management of your skin disease. I hope you got my answer. Still, any query..you may ask.

Thanks.
