What Causes Rashes On The Ankles?

default
Posted on Tue, 22 Aug 2017
Question: Have had a body rash for over 2 weeks it started at ankles and has worked it's way to the groin then stomach arms and then face. I went to doctor because my eyes were swollen shut and my eyes looked like they had bags of fluid under the skin.
I was given a steriod shot and steriod cream but i cant use it because the skin is raw and it burns so bad .
the doctor said I had came into contact with something but i tried to explain I dont get out of my house because i am disabled . I have had shingles before down my spine and it looks and feels like that did but he said you couldn't have shingles all over your body.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. It seems that your doctor is referring to what is known as 'contact dermatitis' which is basically due to an allergic reaction. I would request you to upload image of the affected areas. It will help me to evaluate the condition. Taking some antiallergic like cetirizine or benadryl (or possibly better ones like fexofenadine or loratidine which are prescription medicines) should help. You could also apply some emollient like calamine lotion or some moisturizer like aloe vera lotion.

I would be able to comment further based on your inputs. I would await your response. Let me know if I could help further.

Regards
