What Causes Radiating Pain In The Leg, Hip And Calf?

default
Posted on Thu, 22 Sep 2016
Question: For the past week or so I have been experiencing a burning, achy pain in my right hamstring. This past week I have been taking NSAID (Aleve) for the pain. I don't like pain medications though. I work outside and I stand on my job, so I thought this may be the source. However, I have recently had to change the way I sleep and think that it may be because of my mattress. The pain is deep inside my leg stazrting at my hip joint and ending at the top of my calf. I hate pain lol, so this is really messing with me. I think I should also mention a mole that I manually removed on the side of my right leg a few months ago. I hope it's not related to the pain. I have had some swelling and aching in my knees and have used copper compression sleeves on both. I live in Michigan and my job is year-round so maybe it's arthritis? I don't know.

Brief Answer:
Can be muscular pain or disc bulge.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The pain in the leg from hip till the calf can be a muscular pain or due to a minor disc bulge at the lower back. Such pains usually decrease with rest, mild pain killers or oral muscle relaxants. Hot compress and local analgesic gels also help.
It is not likely to be related to the removal of mole. Do consult your orthopedician for a direct examination and stronger prescription medicines for relief.
I hope this answers your query.
