What Causes Radiating Pain In Left Leg, Feet And Numbness In Right Thumb?

Question: I have avascular nectrosis,52 male, had both hips totally replaced and left shoulder half replaced. I need r shoulder half replaced and my l4-l5-l5-s1 are herniated where I cannot bend for more tha n 10 minutes w/o great pain. I have radiating pain shooting down my left leg from butt to middle of foot. I have numbness on my right thumb due to my shoulder avascular nectrosis supported by first, second and third surgery. I was given prednisone for 12 years for gout which still haunts me. Due to taking NSAIDS I was in critical care for 4 days and now have stage 3 kidney disease. I hwent to St XXXXXXX and XXXXXXX XXXXXXX u. both jesuit schools and should bev making good money. My last job was Deputy Project Director for the city of XXXXXXX to prevent childhood lead poisoning. Before I was a chemist for ~ 20yrs.
When I worked for the city (9yrs) I lost all my dissability points so now I'm surviving on $448.00 per month since After working since I was 15 to 45 I didn't get enough points. My current pain management doctor has me on tylenol 3 3x/day; dropped from 90mg oxycode and 60 mg morphine sulpahete both approved by Dr XXXXXXX McKinley from the oho kidney institute. I functioned almost like a healthy 60 yr old, I could walk my dog, mow the grass in a whole day and shower daily. 2.5 yrs ago I tested 8 ppb of THC while the min detection limit was 7ppb in Ohio. At this time is when my doctor cut my meds approved by my kidney doctor to basically nothing. Codeine bothers my stomach. And I was a black belt and very healthy, now I cannot walk around the block. I would think 2.5 yrs I paid my dept to society for breaking the law. What meds do you believe I should be taking so I can go back to work and make a living before my parents die, they are in their late 70's with no inheritance since the economy and they lost their ass on ENRON. My last Dr told me to take tramadol which my kidney dr said only for a month or it could to sage 4 which means dialysis. his prick told me that since my drug use (1ppb) over the min. detection limit I was a drug addict and not evrybody is effected by treadol and I had to chance it (stage 4 kidney disease); well I had a police escort out of the hospital. Can any Dr, in Oh forgive my one time THC usage which I admitted to my Dr before the drug test. It was Christmas and some of my relatives came in from CO where it is legal and I took 1 puff 4 days before my test. I want to go back to work and start living again. Thank you so much for reading my whining story, XXXXXXX Ludwig

Brief Answer:
Medication like methylcobalamine and analgesic like oxaceprol will help.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I have studied your case.
I can understand your health.

Check your vit B12 and vit D3 level.

Medication like methylcobalamine and analgesic like oxaceprol once a day will help you with out affecting your kidney , you can take it consulting your doctor.
This will reduce pain and will help to join work.
You should focus on spine extension exercises and lower limb strengthening exercises.

Some exercises which can be done include- Spine extension exercises, Lying on your stomach flat lift leg 6 inches from ground, do it for other leg.
Now lift both hand and leg simultaneously, 6 inch off the ground and stay
Position for around 10 breathes. Core stabilizing spine exercises will help.

You may consult physiotherapist for guidance. He may start TENS, or ultrasound which is helpful in your case.
I will advise you to repeat MRI whole spine to see for further disc bulge or spinal canal stenosis.
If not relieved you can take epidural injection consulting your doctor.

Hope this helps. Wish you a speedy recovery.

My VD3 haas been low for years since I do not go out in the sun. My family doctor has given 30-50k micrcounits/week but says probably won't help with out sun. I believe my B12 is ok but I take supplements. Since I did so well on the narcotics why are they not mentioned with your help. I could go to work immediately. I have a tens unit and helps very little.
