Hi,

Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.

You have stitch abscess in your leg where saphenous vein has been salvaged for CABG. Most likely the causative organism is Staphylococcus aureus. You need to subject pus for culture and sensitivity test and take a course of antibiotic as per sensitivity report for 5-7 days. Meanwhile you can do local dressing with Mupirocin (Pseudomonic Acid A) topical oint. Are you diabetic also?

Since you are diabetic ,get your blood sugar Fasting and post-prandial done.Ideally fasting should be around 100 and postprandial 140 mg % ,so as to keep infection under control and hasten the process of healing. Your anti-diabetic oral drugs or insulin whatever you might be taking needs to be adjusted also ,if blood sugar does not have adequate control,in addition to systemic and topical antibiotics.
