Brief Answer:
Likely to be due to gastritis

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone very carefully through your query. Your son's problem seems to be due to gastritis. In other words, the problem seems to be more likely to be due to the injury caused by stomach acids.

In order to relieve him, you need to ask him do the following:
* Avoid spicy food. Take small but frequent meals. Avoid long gaps between meals.
* Give Lanzol Junior tablet (lansoprazole) once daily before breakfast.
* Give plenty of green leafy vegetables as well as other sources of dietary fibers. Take fiber supplements like isabgol/psyllium husk or senna. I would insist you to increase your dietary fiber intake.
* Regular playing or exercise for at 1 hour a day to keep the bowel movements proper.
* Give curd or yogurt on daily basis. It contains beneficial bacteria and should help.

Hope that helps.

Let me know if I could help further.

Hi Doctor,

Thanks for the response.

For long time we have been giving him a cup of milk in the morning and in the evening. Also quite frequently till last week ,, we used to feed him milk rice for dinner.
So should all this be changed.

My elder son who is 11 years now, has a cup of milk twice a day and milk rice. Should I avoid milk for my elder son also.

Brief Answer:
It would be better to avoid milk

Detailed Answer:
Unfortunately and contrary to popular belief, milk is hard to digest, especially for some individuals. I would prefer eliminating milk from the diet of both the children, assuming that they otherwise receive a wholesome diet.

Brief Answer:
Alternatives mentioned

Detailed Answer:
Curd or yogurt is a good alternative to milk.
Milk is primarily a source of protein and calcium. Animal proteins can be procured from fish, meat or eggs. High calcium foods include dark leafy greens, cheese, low-fat milk and yogurt, bok choy, fortified tofu, okra, broccoli, green beans, almonds, and fish canned with their bones.
So, these should for good alternatives for milk.
