default
Posted on Mon, 9 May 2016
Question: The last 6 weeks I have had searing pain in my pelvic reagion. Its like the insides are pushing out like crowning. I have pain laaterally and the movement of any kind moves fron side to side. The left side is the worse, Its sore and numb on the outside and the left leg is hard to mobilize when I have slept or sat for any period of time. The pain feels like the pelvic area is falling out of my vagina. No discharge, no blood or strange ordors. I have a walker now and that helps. heat from pt helps for a few hours. Today I saw the surgeon who implanted my prosthetics that are on recall. The Dupuy ones, but he says its some kind of inflammation, that I needed a Mri and a special blood test to determine whether or not the metalon metal prothetic is causing trouble. I have a hard time walking unless I hold on to something. I'm allergic to pain meds of all kinds except demerol. He ordered a dose pak and that is all. I declined the endocine because of my kidney issues from havoing sle. Can you help? Xray said nothing is wrong.

Brief Answer:
Chronic inflammation and loosening of innocent. Needs PET scan

Detailed Answer:
Hi there.

Thanks for the query.

Has a hip aspiration been done?

Any blood tests?

It appears that you have loosening of the implant and possible metal in metal ALVAL reaction such can cause chronic inflammation.

You need to get a PET scan done to look for focus of infection and loosening of the implant.

Apply hot packs to the painful regions. Take pain killers avoid full weight bearing if it hurts a lot.

An MRI scan will help as well.

I hope I have answered your query.

I will be available to answer your follow up queries.
