What Causes Persistent Itchiness On Back?

default
Posted on Mon, 28 Sep 2015
Question: My entire back is extremely itchy ( semi painful more annoying. Like a million mosquito bites) and has been for days. After I shower I have hives but then they go away and the itch stays. Thought it could be from new detegent. But it's not on my legs. More focused around hips, around to my back and up into my hair line. Could it still be detergent or maybe shingles without the blisters

Brief Answer:
Shingles unlikely..Photo would be helpful to assess

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX

The hives were due to the old reagent(Which is Type 1) and i believe that the persistent itchiness is due to the new detergent you replaced.Detergents share common characteristic and thus cross-reactivity possible.A nearby Dermatologist should pick that up easily..

Regards
