Question: Hello, I am 34 years of age, Male. I have had perpetual issue of excess gas generation resulting in difficult burps and also passing gas. I haven't really tried any medicine except for PANTOCID which seemed to help. I really need to correct this problem as I am worried that such prolonged situation may cause long term damage.

Lifestyle modification will help you

Detailed Answer:

Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Thank you for the query.
I understand your concern.

First thing is you need to stop worrying and get the thought of long term damage to your intestine due to gas, out of mind.

Gas formation is a physiological thing and some may have a bit of excess production resulting in these symptoms.

can try following thing which will help you in long run.

Lifestyle modification will help you.

1) Eating on time
2) Taking adequate sleep
3) Regular walking
4) Avoiding sleep 2 hours after meals
5) Cutting down on stress and anxiety
6) Drinking lots of water
7) Can try changing pantocid to pantocid - dsr available over the counter once a day in morning.

Getting some basic tests like doing complete blood count, thyroid function test, stool examination will help.

If symptoms are persistent, recurrent or you have alarm symptoms like loss of weight, appetite, altered bowel habits then it is worthwhile visiting a gastroenterologist.

Hope this answers your query.
Wish you a speedy recovery.
Happy to help.

Brief Answer:
Hi Sumer

Detailed Answer:

Thank you for the query.
Rabeprazole (20mg) can be taken instead of pantoprazole at dose of once a day in morning before breakfast.
If combination of rabeprazole (20MG) with domperidone (30 MG sustained release) is better if available to you over the counter.
Best wishes.
