What Causes Passing Of A Bowel Movement During Urination?

default
Posted on Wed, 18 Mar 2015
Question: In Sept of 2012 I had a bladder sling put in because my bladder was about to fall out. I'm 75 now. Well it took me a year to start felling good. Since then I have had so many UTI's. When i pass urine, I also have a BM, This never has happened before. I have e-coil infection all the time. Is there any where that the mash went into the bowel? My insurance will not pay for a scran to check this out?

Brief Answer:
More likely due to infection.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
Passing of a bowel movement during urination is not suggestive of displacement of the mesh. In case the mesh is displaced the bladder wall will prolapse again and you will again start feeling discomfort. This can be detected to some extent by your gynecologist after a clinical examination. She can then recommend a scan in case it is needed. A recurrent e.coli infection is the more likely cause of your symptoms.
