default
Posted on Sat, 5 Jul 2014
Question: hi, few days ago i had pain while urinating, and used to urniate constantly , i had visited a doctor at a local clinic and he had concluded that it was due to sexually transmitted diease , i am sexually active, and pescribed a injection and antibiotics (cifran 500/nl doxy capsules)

i have been taking them regularly, i am feeling much better from before and the pain is not there while urnitating

but now i have seen a boil like thing at the tip of pennis, like red and white, when i open penis , i can c it.. it pains a bit..

i consulted a doctor online on this website and he pescribed the below for treatment

1.Fucidin Cream ointment- Sodium Fusidate
2.Doxycycline tablet - 100 mg

i have been using this for about 6 days now, but i still c the wond on the penis, there is no pain , i am not able to differenciate it from before. The same doctor dignoised (persisting swelling of foreskin( prepuce). This could possibly be due to infection and collection under the prepuce).recommended the below for further treatment

1. Tablet Azithromycin 1gm ( available as 500mg tablet , take 2 tablets once) once a week for 2 weeks( only 2 doses: total 4 tablets).
2.Local application of Glycerine and Magnesium sulphate soaked gauge piece will also drastically reduce

i would like to cross check if the above is correct and i should use the same or it will get worse and i should c a doctor agian

Brief Answer:
You have infection of the urethra(Urethritis)

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query, based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have severe dysuria and have been diagnosed to have STD.

I shall be happy if you can post me few more details to help me in making comments on your problem.
1) Was STD confirmed by doing screening tests for STD?
2) Was swab test and culture done to find out the organisms and antibiotics to which they are sensitive to?

The photographs that you have posted show severe infection of the foreskin (Posthatitis) .

1)Please get swab test and culture of the urethral discharge done to trace out the organisms causing this infection and antibiotics to which they are sensitive to.
2) Get your blood sugar levels done to rule out diabetes.

Continue with medicines prescribed and later on switch on to antibiotics as per culture report.

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions ,
I shall be happy to help you
Thanks and Regards.

Brief Answer:
Getting urine culture and swab test is ideal way

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for follow up.
Getting urine culture and swab test to find out organisms is the ideal way to treat .
Taking antibiotics for 3-4 weeks without positive evidence of nature of organisms and their sensitivity is not advisable.

It should take 2 weeks to resolve the problem if you take appropriate antibiotic as per culture report.

You may continue taking Doxycycline till you get culture report and later on start taking appropriate antibiotic as per culture report.

Thanks and Regards.
