Question: Hi I have a dent on the right side of my head. It hurts sometimes. I had a subdural hematoma when I was a baby. Does it have anything to do with that?

Brief Answer:
Dent is likely from skull injury which cause subdural hematoma

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.

1. Subdural hematoma is a bleed collecting within the membranes covering the brain. This usually resolves in few weeks and will not cause any problems at your age.

2. If the subdural hematoma was due to an injury to your skull then that bone injury can appear as a dent on your head.

3. In conclusion, any injury to your skull in childhood can cause a dent but the sub dural hematoma itself will not cause it.

If it is painful then please consult your doctor and get a CT scan or MRI scan of brain done for detailed evaluation.

Hope your query is answered.
Please do write back if you have any doubts.
