What Causes Pain Under The Right Rib Cage?
Question: Hi, my teenage daughter has pain under rib right hand side, last month she had a scan but nothing showed up, the pain is till there and she says her shoulder is also sore , the whites of her eyes are yellowish but not all over, she says its a sharp pain. She has not consumed any alcohol or substances she shouldn't of. This all started a couple of weeks after having her appendix out where they also used the camera.

I read your question and i understand your concern. Pain in right hypochondrium with normal scans and yellowish of sclera of eyes and recent history of appendix removal via laparoscopy should be evaluated for the gall bladder and jaundice causes. If all clear then its nothing to worry about and irritable bowel symptoms are very common after gut manipulating surgeries like appendectomy and will resolve in a few months . Modifying diet lifestyle, small frequent meals, avoiding dairy, spices, alcohol, soda , beverages, coffee, tea, stimulants will help. Use more yogurt and peppermint, more fiber and plenty of fluids and see if it helps. Supportive care with some antispasmodics and some antacids may be sought.
