Brief Answer:
Transient nerve compression.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Raybullion,
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar,a neurologist,here to answer your query.

If you would have presented to me as an outpatient,I would have told you that the clinical description you have given is indicative of transient nerve compression-which is physiological in nature.

To explain, when we keep our limbs in a certain position for some time, some of our nerves must be under compression(pressure) depending on our posture, which results in numbness and tingling of the respective part of our body. This improves once we change our body posture or limb position.

This is physiological phenomenon and happens with many people.

However, sometimes in neuropathy, initial presentation may be tingling and numbness. So,please tell whether you have any other history which predispose to neuropathy like Diabetes, chronic alcoholism?

I shall be glad to have you in follow-up with details.

Regards
Dr.Ajay Panwar,
MD,DM(Neurology)
