What Causes Pain Near Ribcage?

default
Posted on Tue, 7 Oct 2014
Question: I have had pain and tenderness on my right side rib cage that starts midway in the ribs and goes up into my back. When I sit back I can feel the pain get worse and what feels like knots in my back on the ribs and burning sensation around the right ribs. Idk if these other symptoms are related but have also surfaced since the rib pain started. They are red itchy eyes, what seems like slightly dark spots on the white inside part (closest to nose) of both eyes. Discomfort in left armpit not really painful. Small spots on skin of upper torso and arms like tiny blood spot. I can rub them away and they come right back up like blood is leaking from a small pin prick. I have had X-rays in the last month all clear and CBC that had albumin and calcium level slightly above average but was said to be normal. Urinalysis was said to have keytone range of 20 and slightly low urea/nitrogen but nothing alarming to GP. 29yo white male only previous illness was iritis over 8 years ago that was cleared up with steroid drops.

Thanks for your prompt response. I will talk with my gp about this and get the tests ran for sure. Also My mother has been diagnosed with fibro a number of years ago and we share alot of the same symptoms but i dont think it is hereditary from what ive read is it possible she could also have this spondyloarthritis condition as well. She has seen many doctors most of which dismiss her problems as fibro or ms.
