Brief Answer:
Could be due to fall in oesrogen level

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings of the day

Dear Ms

Following could be the cause of urethral pain in your case
1. Postmenopausal state: There decline in oestrogen level causes the dryness of mucosa of genitals and urethra which could be cause of pain.
2. Repeated Urethral instrumentation: Clean intermittent self catheterization(CISC) as you have been doing could be the cause. CISC is not indicated if there is no difficulty in passing urine
3. Scalded Urethral Syndrome: Because of dryness there could be tiny ulceration

I would suggest you the following which will definitely be helpful

1. Hot Seitz bath: To a tub of lukewarm water add handful of common table salt. Sit in it for 15-20 minutes each session twice a day. This will be very helpful in relieving pain
2. Alkalinizing Urine: Oral intake of syrup containing Disodium Hydrogen citrate will be very useful.
3. Consider Hormone replacement therapy in consultation with your Gynecologist
4. Local application of Betamethasone ointment at urethral opening twice a day
5. Avoid catheterization

Do get back to me if you need any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.

Take Care
