Yes esophagitis can be a very common cause for such chest pains and need to be managed supportively with diet lifestyle adjustments and ant acids . Small frequent meals, avoiding triggers like coffee, alcohol, beer, soda, beverages, tea, spices, chocolates , bige eating and drinking etc should be avoided. Delay lying down after meals for at least 2 hours. Lose weight and keep BMI below 25 and see if it helps.
