default
Posted on Mon, 14 Apr 2014
Question: Hello, I an18 year old Asian male. For the past 2 weeks, I have been experiencing a dull aching-like pain in both my testicle particularly the left one. The left testicle is lumpy and significantly bigger than the right. In addition, it seems as if the blood vessels leading to the left testicle are enlarged.

Brief Answer: Possibly varicocele... Detailed Answer: Hi, From the symptoms you are describing, it might be related to enlargement of local blood vessels (varicocele). However, uro-genital infections should be also ruled out. If you have a history of recent trauma (where the scrotum has been involved), it might be related to injury. I suggest to run further physical/digital examination by a specialized urologist together with the following lab tests: - urine analysis and culture - Color Doppler study of the scrotum to rule out Varicocele - culture of the sperm - abdominal ultrasound Depending on the test results, specific treatment would be prescribed. Hope it helped! Feel free to ask me other questions you might have! Dr.Albana
