Posted on Tue, 25 Nov 2014
Question: Hi I am 27 years of age. I am suffering from mild pain in my left testicle for past 2.5 years. I had ultrasound done the scrotom was perfect no kidney stones no torsion nothing everything came out to be perfect . The doctor said it will go away on it's own. Well the pain did not go away I went to a urologist he checked my left testicle he pressed a nerve on my left testicle it pained and the pain radiated to lower left abdomen. He said you must have had an infection it will go away and suggested to wear supporters. I freaked out in the name of infection I checked my self for HIV hepatitis all clear. I never had unprotected sex . No problem in erection until past one month since I am freaking out these days I am not getting aroused. All I can think of is pain and weather I will be able to have an erection. I did research on google and found that the pain can go through antibiotics but not sure. I am going to a different urologist today. Kindly help

Brief Answer:
Mostly due to Varicocele.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query, based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have pain in left testicle since 2 years .

This could be due to mild infection of Epididymis or Mild Varicocele which is always secondary to UTI..

Please get your routine urine test and urine culture done to find out any the organisms causing this infection and antibiotics to which they are sensitive to.

Considering the long duration of your symptoms get following basic test done to rule out Varicocele.
1) Colour Doppler study of scrotum to rule out Varicocele.

Please take Please take broad spectrum antibiotics like Cefexine along with urinary antiseptic like Nitrofurantoin and anti inflammatory drug like Diclofenac twice daily.with urine alkaliser thrice daily.Later on switch on to appropriate antibiotics as per culture report.

Ensure to drink more water. To keep your urine dilute This will help to control dysuria.

Further treatment will be advised by Urologist whom you are likely to consult in a day or two.

Hope I have answered your query. Please feel free to write if you have more questions I shall be happy to help you .
Thanks and Regards .
