What Causes Pain In Pelvic Region Before Periods And During Ovulation?

Posted on Thu, 19 May 2016
Question: hi I am 33, bmi, 34 5ft 2 in 188 lbs. have had four live vaginal births, but in the last year have miscarried twice. one blighted ovum found out at 6 weeks it wasn't viable, and carried the pregnancy until 13 weeks. last miscarriage found out at 6 weeks I was pregnant, miscarried at 7 weeks. no dnc in either case
. since my last successful pregnancy in 2012. I have a lot of pelvic pain through ovulation, and right before period. pain almost unbearable sometimes.
also for the two weeks prior to period feel very sick sometimes dizzy, very tired, irritable, nausea, achy, sometimes hot flashes., very comparable to early pregnancy symptoms, almost feels like I have flu two weeks every month.
I have had all kinds of labs ran thyroid is normal. the only things found a little off is slightly low iron and vitamin d level low.
hormones have not been tested.
also the day before both miscarriages I would run fever and chill, like my body was fighting it. I don't even know if that is possible but that is how it felt.
can I get some advice on what this could be? what other types of treatments I could persue. and if I were to get pregnant again what is the likelihood that I would only lose the pregnancy again?

Brief Answer:
Few antibody test will help in detecting cause of miscarriages.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
The pain in the pelvic region just before the periods and during ovulation can be a normal variation of pre menstrual syndrome. In endometriosis the pain persists during the periods. The pregnancy loss during first 6 weeks is mostly due to chromosomal abnormality. It is less likely to be a hormone related issue. Few antibody tests will help in ruling out other causes of early miscarriage.
It is best to consult a gynecologist for a few blood tests and an ultrasound scan to rule out any abnormality.
