What Causes Pain In Inner Thighs?

default
Posted on Mon, 7 Jul 2014
Question: I woke up today with fairly intense pain in both inner thighs...not on skin but not deep either, seemed close to surface, perhaps muscular, and not concentrated but spread out. Also had a lot of gas, possibly from huge doses of vitamin C past couple days trying to avert a cold. As I moved around, especially after expelling gas, pain started to subside. Could gas, in some kind of domino effect, have caused the pain? I am 73, good health, very active, regularly do aerobic exercise, recent physical excellent, docor said cholesterol panels "stellar" (total 130, LDL 67).

Brief Answer:
Viral Infection(cold) may be a cause

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for posting
First of all I appreciate your passion for healthy living and aerobics. I have gone through your query carefully and it does not look to be related to gas problem which you had.
It might well be the muscle have become sore/stiff at night (rest time), because of Impending viral infection (cold). This early morning stiffness usually goes away once the patient has some limb movement.
Besides having vitamin C, you may take-plenty of fluid, chicken soup and hot tea as it can ease your symptoms along with rest.
Hope this helps and I shall be glad to answer any further query.
Take care
