Question: 3 weeks ago I started getting a pain in my hip, located in my left buttock. It was so bad I was walking sideways. Over time, and throughout the day it travelled up to my waist, and down my thigh (in the front), down through my leg, and resulted in a cramp in my foot. I was told I had a lazy muscle in my left buttock about 6 months ago. Prescribed exercises have not helped. Any ideas please?
After rest the pain does ease, but with any movement the muscles seem to start to stiffen, and the pain returns, and increases steadily. I'm walking with a limp, although I try to stay in a straight position. I have noticed that my left foot turns outwards, which I try to correct, and when I stand my legs are apart, probably for balance, again which I try to correct. Lying down is painful. If I lie on my left side it hurts, whereas in the past this has helped to dull/numb the pain. lying on my right side it feels as if I'm stretching muscles in my hip, and is very painful at times. It's just lasting a long time. I take 2
ponstan when it's bad, if I'm in work, and 50% of the time it does not help with this problem. I did not fall, slip, trip or anything like that. I have torn a ligament in the same area in the past, but this does not feel like the same thing.
