Brief Answer:
Muscle strain may be the cause

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for posting
I have gone through your query and understand your concern. The symptoms you have are suggestive of muscle strain around groin region.
My suggestion is-
Hot water fomentaton, Ibuprofen along with muscle relaxant (prescription only) thiocolchicoside for few days will help.
Hope this helps.
Take care

Dear Dr.
Thanks for your advice. Please allow me to add some more information. I had a small accident nearly five years ago. There was a fracture of fibula on same leg. The internal injuries have healed and so is the fracture, as per x ray and MRI reports. The x ray of spine and lateral indicate minor gap, but I do not have any lower back problem.
The groin pain started about about eight months ago. Pain comes only due to movement of leg, I have already tried your suggestions. Do you have any alternative suggestion?

Brief Answer:
x-ray pelvis with both hip is recommended

Detailed Answer:
Hello
It's good to see you
I have gone through your reply carefully. The fracture of fibula is a benign injury and heals without complication. In view of chronic groin pain,X-ray of pelvis with both hip is recommended to rule out hip pathology.
The so called gap at spine has no significance until and unless associated with pain at lower back with radiating pain in lower limbs.
Hope your query is answered.
Regards
