What Causes Pain In Chest Radiating To Shoulders And Arms?

Question: mThank you for your help!!!!!! Currently I am 38 years old and very heavy chested. Also, I work at a desk all day and don't always sit very correctly. For about a month now I have been experiencing severe chest pain. I went to the doctor and she listened to my breathing in which resulted in a bronchitis diagnosis and some muscle relaxers. After I finished the antiobiotic and allot of the muscle relaxers I went back in and got a chest xray. The diagnosis during that visit is there is nothing wrong with you. The doctor that I saw is not my regular doctor and although he did the best that he could, I feel insecure about his care as he contradicted himself a few times and was somewhat rude. My chest is still in severe pain and my breathing feels weird. I am a heavy smoker. Do you think that I should go back and see my regular doctor or just chalk it up to muscle pain from being heavy chested. SO sorry to bother you and again thanks in advance for you help.

Brief Answer:
Go to ER / or see your doctor

Detailed Answer:
Dear friend,
Welcome to Health Care Magic

Pain from the heart is oppressing, in central chest (and left), worse on effort, relieved by rest, may radiate to shoulders and arms, associated with sweating and so on.
Your symptoms do not suggest Coronary Artery Disease (CAD).
Still, with a smoking history, CAD needs to be excluded.
We need ECG & enzymes to rule out...

In suspected heart attack, TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE – if detected early, an attack may even be aborted / the amount of damage and complications can be reduced remarkably. The most important time is the first few hours.

You SHOULD SEE YOUR DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE...
Or Have a second opinion
Better be safe than sorry - treated if a problem is found / Happy, if it turns out otherwise

Take care
God bless
