What Causes Pain And Tenderness In Head After Injury?

default
Posted on Mon, 5 Oct 2015
Question: Hi. a couple of hours ago I leaned forward and managed to jab the side of my right eye with the sharp end of the clothes rail. I cried it hurt so much and felt better after a couple of minutes under cool water. I had two small jab marks no blood though. I hear about brain injuries after innocent falls etc and am paranoid I hit the temple and am terrified of an upcoming stroke silly as it may sound. That side of my head feels a bit tender and I felt a couple of throbbibg sensations in my head earlier same side but closer to the top of the skull. theyve stopped now. I feel tired but otherwise ok. It has been a long day with baby too. I think this is where the zygomatic bone is? Literally perhaps 1cm down from the eyebrow. Should I be worried and get it checked

Brief Answer:
No you should be fine, you have no risk for brain injury

Detailed Answer:
Welcome to HCM. I understand your concerns, but that injury will come to pass, many patients will actually visibly fracture that part of their skull and have excellent outcomes, I would not worry about it. As long as you are not having crazy headaches and or vision loss then I would not have a medical check up. I hope that helps and good luck.
