What Causes Pain And Swelling In The Feet, Ankles And Calves?

default
Posted on Thu, 13 Oct 2016
Question: Swelling in feet, ankles and calfs with pain due to tight skin and swollen joints. Now add rash due to irritation from socks. Going over 30 days.
I have seen my GP, and two Chinese TCM practitioners. Acupuncture, cupping and herbal tea provided some relief.

Pain is more in tightness of skin and external than in joints.

Brief Answer:
Further details and investigations required.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone through your query and understand your concerns. The cause of the swelling needs to be evaluated. Please mention if you have any known history of raised blood sugar or blood pressure. In any case I would insist you to get these two measured. Based on the findings further investigations can be done.

I would insist you to put candid (clotrimazole) powder in your socks and over your feet before you wear them. This will take care of fungal rash. I would still insist you to upload an image of the affected area.

I would await your response.
