default
Posted on Tue, 5 Sep 2017
Question: I have two scans on my scalp that itch and hurt and an incredibly dry scalp.
Scabs are about a week old. Is it cancer? Also can you have a low grade fever with a yeast infection under fat roll and breast

Brief Answer:
Scabs caused by excoriations due to dry scalp, doesn't look skin cancer

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at HealthcareMagic
I have gone through your complaints as well as reviewed the attached photograph.
These scabs seems to be caused by excoriations related to a dry scalp.
It is not looking like any skin cancer.
You can apply a topical steroid and antibiotic cream like neosporin ointment and cortisone cream on the affected areas daily for 8-10 days.
For itching take antihistaminic like tablet Cetrizine 10 mg once or twice daily depending on the intensity of itching.
This should resolve them.
Regarding your second question it is very unlikely to have fever with yeast infection under the breast and fat roll.

Dr Asmeet
