Brief Answer:
It is normal

Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Thank you for using HealthcareMagic.

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

It is normal to feel pain and discomfort in rectal, perineal area after this procedure (dilatation and curettage).
Rectum wall is very near vaginal wall so during the procedure all the trauma to the vagina wall might have transmitted to the muscles of rectal wall. All the perineal area is traumatized from the procedure.
Normal side effects of a D&C may last a few days and include:mild cramping, spotting or light bleeding.
Considering the fact that the procedure was done today ,the discomfort is understandable .

You can take Ibuprofen for the pain.
If the pain is intense ,doesn't seem to get better with Ibuprofen and the pain last more than 4-5 days ,then you should consult your OBGYN doctor and get examined to figure out the cause.

Hope it was of help.
Let me know if you have other questions or doubt to clarify.I will be happy to assist you further.

Kind Regards!
